About counselling
Counselling offers an opportunity to explore and make sense of the things in life that feel difficult. It might be a relationship breakdown, a bereavement, a demanding job, parenting, or family dynamics. Or it might be an enduring sense of not feeling good enough and lacking confidence, feeling unfulfilled or having anger that gets out of control.
My approach
Psychodynamic counselling allows the time and space for the complexities of our lived experiences to be thought about and understood. And with fresh understanding, new options become available. My clients often experience clarity in the process of hearing themselves speak and can identify patterns or habits that they want to understand more deeply. Together we explore, and make meaning from, things that feel bewildering, overwhelming, hopeless or frightening. In this way, you will find ways to manage what may previously have felt unmanageable.
Counselling is a uniquely personal experience. I will maintain an open and safe space for you to be yourself. You take the lead, bringing the issues and challenges you face, and I will listen carefully and with sensitivity. Sometimes I will ask guiding questions or offer a reflection or a possible new perspective. We will find a way of working together that meets your needs and fosters your growth.
