I think counselling is brilliant! I trained as a counsellor because I know that counselling makes a tangible difference in people's lives.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years working with children and families in primary and secondary schools in Luton, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
I understand the challenges that families and individuals face, particularly while trying to thrive in the education system and navigating the challenges of moving through significant life-stages.
I have worked with young offenders, children in foster care, survivors of domestic abuse, young carers and children with body dysmorphia.
I have also supported people with anxiety, chronic ill-health, relationship difficulties (romantic and parental), grief, low mood and low confidence.
I have a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from The Counselling Foundation, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Wellbeing (Level 7 Distinction) from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
I am a Registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and adhere to their Ethical Framework. You can access BACP support here: bacp.co.uk
I have monthly supervision and monthly CPD, which ensures that my knowledge continues to deepen and my clinical skills remain at a high standard.
